Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Fitglance is a virtual clothing try-on app operated by Respect Mashego. Contact r.mashego333@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
Information we process
- Account details: our authentication provider receives your account identifier and the name or email provided by Google or Apple, including an Apple relay email when you choose Hide My Email. If you sign in with email, it processes your email and password to authenticate you. Our server does not receive your password. Sign-in services report that their SDKs may also process an account phone number, approximate location and other account or device data for authentication and service analytics. Fitglance does not request phone or location access for sign-in.
- Photos and try-ons: the person photo and garment images you select, outfit photos submitted for clothing extraction, extracted clothing images, generated images, job status and timestamps. Photos may contain faces and other personal information. We do not create facial recognition templates or identify people from their photos.
- AI image reports: when you report a generated image in the app, we receive that image, the reason you choose, any optional details you add, your account identifier and the time of the report.
- Product links: earlier app versions could send submitted links to our server, which requested product images from the retailer. That import is now disabled. In-app browsing and item capture are described below.
- Purchases, when available: store product, transaction and purchase status, your Fitglance account identifier and points balance. The App Store or Google Play processes payment; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Service information: account-based request counts, security and operational logs, such as request time, errors and IP address, help run the service and prevent abuse. Authentication services may also process technical diagnostics independently of the optional Usage analytics setting.
- App updates and error diagnostics: Expo's update service receives a persistent app-installation identifier, platform and runtime version when the app checks for updates. A later update check may also include a shortened description of a fatal app error.
- Optional analytics: if you turn on Usage analytics in the app's Preferences, an analytics service receives app usage events and app/device information such as app version, operating system and a pseudonymous installation identifier. It also derives general location, such as a city or country, from a masked IP address; Fitglance does not request GPS or precise location access. We do not put photos, prompts, names, email addresses or product links in analytics events.
AI previews
Try-ons and enhanced item photos are AI-generated previews. Appearance, colour, garment details and fit may vary. Enhancement may reconstruct hidden fabric or change small details; the original item photo is retained. Results do not establish actual fit or sizing.
You can report a concerning try-on or enhanced image without leaving the app. We use the submitted image and details to review the concern. Reporting does not send the image to the image-generation service again.
AI processing and providers
Fitglance uses cloud AI providers for image features you request. When you create a try-on, we send your selected person and garment images through our server to a cloud AI provider to generate the result. When you separately choose Enhance for an item, we send that item's photo, its category and, when available, the original outfit photo to create a standalone item preview. The original outfit photo can include the person's face and body. Preparing local crops does not itself send photos to a cloud AI provider. Do not upload photos without the pictured person's permission.
We do not use your photos to train our own models. We use cloud AI providers' API services to process the features you request, not to advertise to you. Their safety, legal and operational retention practices can differ; our own storage periods are described below. We do not sell your photos or account information, or use them for targeted advertising.
Cloud infrastructure providers support authentication, private storage and server processing. Billing infrastructure receives purchase identifiers and status so we can validate purchases and manage points. Apple and Google provide sign-in and platform billing where available. A website hosting provider may process standard support-site request logs. These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. We use access controls and encrypted transport to protect cloud data, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
App updates and error diagnostics
Fitglance checks for app updates when it opens. The update request sends a randomly generated client identifier kept on your device, the platform and app runtime version to Expo's update service. If the app encounters a fatal error, a shortened error description may be sent with a later update request to help diagnose failures. These update and error requests occur independently of your Usage analytics setting.
Optional usage analytics
Usage analytics is off unless you turn it on in Preferences. When enabled, it helps us understand whether features work and where people stop using the app. You can turn it off at any time; that stops future optional usage events, but does not remove events already sent or prevent technical processing by the sign-in and update services described above. Analytics is not used for targeted advertising. Contact us if you want to request deletion of data associated with your account.
Clothing cutouts and outfit import
In app versions with local outfit previews, supported iPhones use on-device image processing to suggest regions for you to crop and categorise. The outfit photo and suggested crop boundaries stay on your device for this operation. Finding, adjusting and saving these local previews does not upload the photo. If automatic suggestions are unavailable or uncertain, the app can show the entire outfit photo as an untyped item for you to review and save. A saved full-photo item, including any person visible in it, stays on your device until you remove it or clear your app data.
On supported iPhones, background removal for individual garment photos runs on your device. That background-removal operation does not upload the photo. Choosing to try on the item is a separate operation and sends the selected images as described above.
Earlier app versions may upload a selected outfit photo to our private cloud storage and process it using cloud-hosted garment detection and segmentation. Existing cloud imports can still be resumed or discarded. This separates visible clothing into suggestions for you to review. These earlier imports use cloud image processing; they do not use the image-generation feature unless you separately request a try-on or Enhance. We do not use your outfit photos to train the extraction models, and do not log photo contents.
Import status and results are associated with your account so you can leave and return while processing continues. A local copy of the source photo is kept while an import is pending and may remain with clothing you choose to save. You can discard an import or delete saved items in the app.
Browsing and capturing web items
Search the web opens websites, including Google, inside an in-app browser. These websites receive your browsing requests directly and process information under their own privacy policies. The browser uses a non-persistent session and does not share Fitglance sign-in credentials with websites. Fitglance does not keep a browsing-history list.
When you tap Capture, a temporary image of the visible web page is created on your device. You can crop it and choose an item type before saving it to your wishlist. The selected crop, item name, type and relevant store link are saved locally. The full page capture is not kept with the saved item and is released when the capture flow ends. Browsing, capturing and saving do not send the image to our AI cloud provider. If you separately request Enhance or a try-on, the selected item image is processed as described above.
Storage and deletion
Saved looks, item previews, local drafts and selected photos are stored locally on your device. They remain until you remove them, sign out, delete your account or uninstall the app. Exported photos are controlled separately in your photo library and may be included in your device or cloud backups.
Our cloud input copies are normally deleted after processing finishes. Cloud try-on results become inaccessible through the app after 24 hours. Scheduled cleanup runs every 15 minutes to remove expired images and job records, including those left by failed or interrupted jobs and older outfit imports. Cleanup can take longer if a run fails or there is a backlog. Discarding an outfit import requests deletion of its cloud images; a minimal cancellation record may remain until scheduled cleanup to prevent the same request being processed again. The AI cloud provider has its own retention practices described above.
Enhancement inputs are processed in memory by our server rather than saved in our cloud image storage. When paid points are available, a completed enhanced result can be kept privately in our cloud storage for up to seven days so a timed-out request can be recovered. An enhanced preview is saved locally only when you choose to keep it. A shared original outfit photo can remain while another saved item still uses it.
Reported AI images and report details are stored in private cloud storage for review for up to 30 days, then scheduled cleanup removes the image and report record. Failed or unfinished reports are eligible for removal after one hour. Reports are not public. Deleting your account also removes your submitted reports, subject to the interrupted-cleanup process below.
Account details remain until you delete your account. In-app deletion requires a fresh sign-in. We record the deletion request before removing cloud images, job records, submitted reports, points balance and your authentication account; if cleanup is interrupted, it retries while the deletion request remains pending. After cleanup completes, a temporary deletion marker prevents in-progress jobs from recreating data. The marker is eligible for scheduled removal after 24 hours, but can remain longer if cleanup is delayed. Security and platform logs, support correspondence, legally required purchase records and provider-managed backups may have separate retention periods.
Your choices
You can decline camera or photo access and choose which images to share. You can change Usage analytics in Preferences. You can delete your account in the You tab, use our web deletion request page if the app is unavailable, or email us for access, correction, deletion or questions about your rights. We may ask you to verify account ownership. Do not include a password or authentication code. Copies you shared or saved outside Fitglance are not removed by deleting your account.
Children and changes
Fitglance is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Do not use it to submit children's photos. We may update this policy as the service changes and will update the effective date above.
